2ND WEEK DECEMBER '09 (7TH-12TH) LAST ENTRY FOR 2009!

SQUIB DIARY

MONDAY 7TH DECEMBER 2009
The Squib’s out. Cover story:- “WHOSE HEAD WILL ROLL IN ENUGU”. Had two matters at the Ikeja High Court before going for the monthly meeting of the Tiger Bar.
It was a historic meeting, for it would be the last ever monthly meeting the NBA Ikeja branch in the bungalow.
Come January 1 2010 the building would have been pulled down to make way for the new secretariat of the Tigers-a 3 story building.

TUESDAY 8th DECEMBER 2009
Was at the Lagos High Court for a matter. Saw Mrs. Hairat Balogun, former chairman Body of Benchers in a silk gown. Though only Senior Advocates of Nigeria can put on the silk. Or is the madam a silk, unbeknownst to me?
Must ask mama, one or two questions when next I see her.

WEDNESDAY 9th DECEMBER 2009
Left for Enugu today. For the NBA NEC meeting. In the well known charger of the NBA Ikeja branch - our 42 Seater Bus. With some other Tigers. A tilapian, Squibese for any member of the NBA Lagos Island Branch came for a ride with us. Likewise some of our children (NBA Ikorodu) from Ikorodu branch.
What a jolly ride. Jokes and ‘gists’ all the way. At Awka, comforts in skirts floated into our bus. Tigers love meat you know.
The most impressive town on the way to Enugu was Onitsha. For the wrong reasons - filth, bad roads and traffic jams.

THURSDAY 10th DECEMBER 2009
The NEC meeting of the NBA held. From 9:00am to 8:00pm. Break for two hours 2-4.00pm. All the motions and talks about impeachment of the President (Rotimi Akeredolu) and General Secretary (Ibrahim Eddy Mark) fizzled out. In fact no motion was moved or discussed. Courtesy of the “family affair” approach of dealing with the intra Exco dispute between the President and the General Secretary. (For details see the cover storyhttp://www.squibcoverstory.blogspot.com and learn further about the “Okpoko-ised solution)”

FRIDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2009
Left Enugu for Lagos, with other Tigers and our guests from Ikorodu and Lagos.
This return journey was easier and faster than the visiting. Arrived Lagos 6.56pm. And straight to the exacting arms of that ardent mistress Squib. She must be gotten ready for the outing next week.

SATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER 2009
Barrister Seyi Olawunmi, Chairman of the Young Lawyers Forum, Ikeja branch got married today. So many Tigers and Tigresses there. Was there too. In spirit.
